Scoring
The Barsch Learning Style Inventory helps
you determine whether your preferred learning style is visual, auditory, or tactile (kinesthetic). Here’s how to make
sense of your scores:
Steps to Score Your Learning Style:
- Check
Your Responses:
- You have answered each
question with Often 1 (5 points),
Sometimes 2 (3 points), or Seldom3 (1 point).
- Assign
Scores:
- Next to each question
number in the Visual, Auditory,
or Tactile columns, write the corresponding point value from your
responses.
- Add
Up the Scores:
- VPS
(Visual Preference Score): Total of all the points in the Visual
column.
- APS
(Auditory Preference Score): Total of all the points in the Auditory
column.
- TPS
(Tactile/Kinesthetic Preference Score): Total of all the points in the Tactile
column.
- Interpret
Your Scores:
- The highest score indicates
your dominant learning style.
- If scores are close, you
may have a mixed learning style
or be multimodal, meaning
you learn well in more than one way.
